As detailed on our Terms and Conditions page, one doesn’t need to be at the event to be announced and recorded as a winner.
However, we cannot produce the actual award for those not in attendance.
The AAIA is an extremely expensive event to run, as we don’t only have the huge running costs on the night, but also many ongoing costs throughout the year to maintain the website, social media, and the nominations and voting app.
So we can only afford produce awards for winners that we know are attending.
If you are a nominee, we REALLY hope you can attend and join us! If you are a fabulous winner, then you will be bought up on stage and given your award.
We understand that not everyone can come in person, so please be aware of the fabulous benefits winners and nominees receive even if they cannot attend in person, as outlined below:
AAIAs BY YEAR
- We have an “AAIAs by Year” section on our website. We add to this section every year. Within this section there are fantastic resources for both WINNERS and NOMINEES. We pay to keep this content live year after year — check it out here.
- There are so many resources in this section winners can share, even if they don’t have the physical award, as we keep the winners lists and winners’ gallery pages live. Also the slideshow from the night is published, and we have a slide for non-attending winners. Nominees and winners will often share slides with their audiences.
- Also amazing for all nominees is that the nominee pages stay live year after year, so these act as free mini web pages for the community. Even after the current awards year has finished, these links remain active.
So you can see that AAIA spends a LOT of money providing free resources for the community, but please understand why we cannot provide the physical awards for winners unless they are attending.
